Thank you for your interest in TIPS 2017.  The information below hopefully answers your questions about registration.  But, if not, please e-mail us .
How do I register?
    Four documents are needed to register for TIPS --  the QUSA Waiver, the ACA waiver, the completed registration form and a check made out to TIPS.  Mail all 4 of these documents to T. Symes (TIPS),    507 Craven St., Beaufort, SC 29902.   To download the forms, click on the "Download Button" in the upper right hand corner of the form page and print from your computer.
How do I choose what to work on at TIPS?
     On the registration form you have a list of suggested items for learning or to practice during the weekend.  Or you may suggest something else.  If you are unfamiliar with the rolls mentioned on the form, you may acquaint yourself with them at  Please email us at traditional  with any other questions you might have.
What are my stay options?  
   The standard package for the weekend is Friday and Saturday night, with meals beginning at dinner on Friday evening and ending with lunch on Sunday. Participants may check in beginning at 10 AM, but remember please that lunch is on your own.  The cost for that option, which includes lodging, 6 meals and instruction, is $280.
    The extended weekend package is offered to those who want to arrive on Thursday, and is necessary for those participating in the hatch cover workshop.  This includes the standard package plus one additional night of lodging, and two additional meals.  Thursday arrivals are invited to share a "dutch treat" dinner together in Greenwood, SC (place to be announced later).  Cost for the extended weekend  package (3nights and 8 meals) is $345.
   Lodging is designed for three people to a room, thus will be assigned by gender.  We will try to accommodate roommate requests, but can offer no guarantees .  If such is important for you, make a note at the bottom of your registration form.
What do I Bring?
   PFD/life jacket (required at all times), paddling gear, water bottle, wet suit/dry suit/tuilik (whatever you have),VHF Radio if you have it, nose plugs, sunscreen, rain gear, yoga mat, insulated mug, insect repellent, clothesline to hang up wet gear, weather appropriate clothing, towels.  And bring along a musical instrument if you play and want to share your talents.
